April Showers Brought Mother's Day Flowers!

We all know mothers love flowers. Bring your mom to the Garden this Mother's Day and she will not be dissappointed!
Columbine Aquilegia 'Dragonfly'
These are poking up between the Robb's Spurge (Euphorbia amygdaloides var. robbiae) near the Courtyard. The contrast is stiking!
Sunset Bitterroot Lewisia cotyledon 'Sunset Strain'

White Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart Dicentra spectabilis 'Alba'
After these bloom, the plant goes dormant for the summer. That means you better hurry up here to see them!
Japanese Cobra Lily Arisaema sikokianum
At first glance, you may not know these are flowers. It is fun to see people's reaction to them! See them at the entrance to the Herb Garden.
Silver Shamrock Oxalis adenophylla
These are native to the Chilean-Argentinean Andes. They are planted all throughout the Water Conservation Garden.
Miniature Speedwell Veronica oltensis
A very bright groundcover! It can be seen in the Water Conservation Garden.
Common Foxglove Digitalis purpurea
This plant is quite literally a heartstopper. It has been used as a medicine since early times for heart conditions. Most medicinal plants are poisonous, and this one is no exception.
Bachelor's Button Centaurea montana
What fun and crazy flowers! Take a stroll into the Fern Gully to view them.
Lilac Wonder Tulip Tulipa saxatilis ssp. bakeri
Last but not least, this is the sight you see at the very top of the Water Conservation Garden. Worth it!
