Happy Arbor Day!!

As Utah’s very own arboretum, there’s no place better than Red Butte Garden to celebrate Arbor Day! Visit the Garden for a day filled with "tree-rific" fun as you discover the wonderful world of trees. Don't forget to pick up your FREE tree seedling courtesy of Rocky Mountain Power (while supplies last). Thanks to funding in part by Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts, and Parks Program (ZAP) Arbor Day is a ZAP Free Day! Enjoy free Garden admission all day.

Serviceberry
Serviceberry    Amelanchier canadensis

This beauty is one that lines both sides of the path of the Serviceberry Tunnel on the Floral Walk.

Glacier Lily
Pagoda Glacier Lily    Erythronium x 'Pagoda'

Hundreds of this spring bulb fill the space under the oaks next to the Oak Tunnel path.

Frittilary
Fox's Grape Fritillary    Fritillaria uva-vulpis

A newcomer to the Garden, look for this handsome bulb in the Water Conservation Garden.

Plum
Princess Kay Plum    Prunus nigra 'Princess Kay'

This double-flowered variety was discovered in the wild in northern Minnesota. You can discover ours in the Rose Garden.

Almond
Flowering Almond    Prunus triloba 'Multiplex'

Delicate pink flowers cover this shrub first thing in spring.

Yoshino
Yoshino Cherry    Prunus x yedoensis

This is one of the most popular and widely planted flowering cherries, also known as Sakura in Japan.

Get ready for the Lilac bloom. The first flowers opened this week and they will all open shortly, so visit soon so you don't miss these beloved blooms.
