Thanks to a generous grant from the Utah State Legislature through the CARES Act and administered by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, and Harmons Grocery we were able to create this new Halloween celebration and offer free day-time admission to the community for the entire month of October.
We especially want to thank the entire Red Butte Garden team of staff and volunteers.
Thank you Pioneer Theatre Company and Utah Shakespeare Festival for generously loaning us your beautiful and spooky stage props.
Hats off to all the local musicians, dancers, story-tellers, puppeteers, and chalk artists who performed at our first ever BOOtanical in the Garden.
Welcome to BOOtanical!
The seven monarchs of Halloween—the Pumpkin Queen, Vampire King, Spider Queen, Mummy King, Ghost Queen, Werewolf King, and Witch Queen—have chosen the Garden to host their annual month-long BOOtanical celebration. Each has a task for you to complete while you explore their temporary Red Butte Garden homes.
Discover the ties between Halloween and the natural world. Enjoy safe activities, live local entertainment, and more. Join us for BOOtanical, an outdoor, family-friendly experience in the Garden to celebrate Halloween.
During your visit, find and learn about a few spooky plants like the Horned Poppy (Glaucium flavum), Moonflower (Datura), and many others located in the Garden.
