It's officially spring! Although the weather may not know it, the Garden sure does! Come be amazed by the number of plants blooming right now.

Wild Ginger    Asarum splendens

You really have to look hard in the Herb Garden to spot this flower, as you can see it has mastered the art of camouflage.

Black Pussy Willow    Salix gracilistyla var. melanostachys

Just passing by this tree you may not even know it is in flower, but upon close inspection of the catkin pictured above, you can see lots of anthers sticking out.

Panchito Manzanita    Arctostaphylos x coloradoensis 'Panchito'

Check out this unique inflorescence on the Sprout House roof.

Skunkbush Sumac    Rhus aromatica var. trilobata

Look closely and you can see, the flowers at the bottom of the inflorescence start opening first.

Queen Charlotte Viola odorata 'Konigin Charlotte'

In the Medicinal Garden, you won't be able to miss the sea of bright purple and the sweet scent this violet creates!

Now is a great time to visit the Garden and discover all the early bloomers. Hope to see you soon!
