Most of you know the flowers in our formal gardens, but how many take the time to visit the natural area to see the beautiful native blooms? Right now is probably the best time to see our native flowers at their best.
Arrowleaf Balsamroot Balsamorhiza sagittata
Spreading Fleabane Daisy Erigeron divergens
White Tickseed Hackelia patens
Wasatch Bluebell Mertensia brevistyla
Wild Lily of the Valley Maianthemum stellatum
With the warm temperatures, not only are the hills alive with flora, they are also alive with fauna. One to keep your eye out for is the Great Basin Rattlesnake. Since our gardens border their natural habitat, they often visit the gardens looking for a tasty meal.
Just a reminder: DO NOT pick them up or play with them. They will bite if provoked.
