May Day Flowers

We're half way through May and the Garden is painted in color everywhere you look.

King Edward Yarrow    Achillea x lewisii 'King Edward'

This creamy yellow groundcover is blooming just west of the stage in the Amphitheatre.

Miss Kim Dwarf Lilac    Syringa patula 'Miss Kim'

The sweet smell of this shrub can be found in the Fragrance Garden.

King's Spear    Asphodeline lutea

The tall yellow spires of this perennial greet you as you enter the Herb Garden.

Variegated Dwarf Weigela    Weigela florida 'Nana Variegata'

You can see the soft pink flowers that cover this low growing shrub in the Amphitheatre.

Upright Wild Ginger    Saruma henryi

This delicate-flowered plant grows in the center of the Medicinal Garden.

Yellow Lady's Slipper    Cypripedium parviflorum var. pubescens

Across from the moose sculpture this large-flowered orchid should not be missed.

The temperatures outside are still enjoyable and the Garden's hours are now 9AM to 9PM, so it should be easy to find an excuse to come spend some time roaming our pathways.
