Happy Fourth of July!

Come celebrate our country's independence and bring your family and friends to the Garden and explore the gardens and Natural Area. There is plenty blooming throughout.

Fire Chalice    Zauschneria latifolia

This native, water-wise plant not only blooms for many weeks, it attracts bees and hummingbirds.

Black Jade™ Rose    Rosa 'BENblack'

Of all the miniature roses, Black Jade™ is the darkest red of them all.

Double Flowered Lizard's Tail  Houttuynia cordata 'Flora Pleno'

The leaves of this perennial have a slight fishy flavor and are used in Asian cooking.

Ryan Gainey Hydrangea  Hydrangea arborescens  Ryan Gainey'

A mid-sized version of Annabelle Hydrangea in both plant and bloom size.

Blue Flax   Linum lewisii

Delicate blue flowers appear at the stem tips throughout late spring and summer.

Lazuli Bunting  Passerina amoena

The male is easily recognized by its bright blue head and back, its conspicuous white wingbars, and its light rusty breast and white belly.

It's always a good idea to bring a camera with you when you stroll through the garden. You never know what you'll see.

Have a great Fourth of July and don't forget to drink lots of water!
