The Splendor of Summer

Come enjoy the full splendor of summer as a profusion of blooms carpet every corner of the Garden! As the temperatures are forecasted to dip to a lovely 84 degrees Friday this is a great time to explore the new blooms and enjoy a break in the heat.


Mexican Wine Cups   Callirhoe involucrata 

These papery blooms dazzle with iridescent magenta petals in the Children's Garden.



Big Blue Sea Holly   Eryngium x zabelii   'Big Blue'

This prickly plant makes a striking statement with electric blue new blooms in front of the Visitor Center.



Marsh Mallow    Althaea officinalis 

The diminutive white blooms peak out from the shade along the Floral Walk.


Dittany of Crete    Origanum dictamnus 

Fuzzy grey leaves display these delicate blooms along the rock wall near the waterfall in the Children's Garden.



Blue Flame Giant Purple Sage    Salvia pachyphylla  'Blue Flame'

This water wise selection attracts hummingbirds and gardeners with its lovely color and form.



Bergamot    Monarda didyma  'Raspberry Wine'

This raspberry colored Bergamot reaches for they sky in the Herb Garden.
