Even though fall has arrived, there are still flowers to be seen! Especially those of the grasses! Although the grass family is the most overlooked when it comes to flowers, they definitely shouldn't be. Check out the grasses below and you will see why they are worth your while.

Purple Love Grass   Eragrostis spectabilis

Isn't this fall color spectabilis?! It can be found near the Water Pavilion.

Red Switch Grass   Panicum virgatum 'Haense Herms'

While at the Water Pavilion, you don't want to miss the display of red cloud puffs formed collectively by these tiny red florets.

Silver Spike Grass   Achnatherum calamagrostis

In the Fragrance Garden, keep your eye out for these tan flower heads that will stick around into the winter.

Golden Hakone Grass   Hakonoechloa macra 'Aureola'

This grass has an awesome inflorescence, not to mention the striped blades. Look for it in the Water Pavilion.

Laîche à Petits Fruits   Carex microcarpa

Although not a grass, what a unique flowering structure this sedge exhibits!

Hope to see you at the Garden! Stay tuned for fall color change!
