View from the Natural Area
Check out that clear sky! Now that the inversion is gone, get up to Red Butte for a hike in the Natural Area, the views are stunning.
Mojave Claretcup Echinocereus mojavensis
Speaking of stunning views, this native cactus may have the best view of all the cacti in the land.
Giant Puffball Calvatia gigantea
This may look like a pile of dirt, however, it is a pile of mushroom spores about the size of a basketball! This is all that is left once the puffball mushroom's flesh has deteriorated.
Longstalk Springparsley Cymopterus longipes
This small early bloomer is a Utah native and can be found in the Natural Area.
Alpine Violet Cyclamen coum
This darling little plant can be seen throughout the Garden.
We have many varieties of hellebores blooming right now! Below are a couple of them. They can be easy to miss with their drooping flowers, so be sure to keep your eye on the ground. They can be seen along the Floral Walk and Children's Garden.
